The Western Bulldogs are seeking a Physical Performance Coach to assist our Physical Performance Department.
This role is reporting to the Physical Performance Manager, you will be joining a team that is responsible for the design and implementation of various elements of the physical performance programs to ensure Western Bulldogs players develop and maintain the physical capabilities required to perform at the elite AFL standard. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The development, implementation and delivery of strategies to achieve the best physical conditioning programs that drive elite standards of physical performance
- Ongoing education for the playing group of how best to prepare to compete at their optimum level.
- Data collection and analysis that can be used in collaboration with the entire Physical Performance Team.
- To assist the Sports Scientist in coordinating all sports science technology in relation to testing and training
- Ensure that players develop / maintain the highest standard of behaviour regarding work ethic and professionalism in the training environment.
The ideal candidate will possess formal qualifications in Sports Science, Human Movement or similar. Proven experience in the design and implementation of physical performance programs and comprehensive knowledge of current elite practices. You will also possess highly developed communication (written, verbal & listening) & organisational skills, have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. You must be able to work within a close-knit team and be able to build relationships at all levels in order to achieve the Club’s common goals. IT (Mac) skills and high levels of administrative abilities are essential for this role. Due to the nature of the industry this is initially a two-year contract.
