FREMANTLE midfielder Nathan Fyfe says he feels like a million dollars as he attempts to prove his fitness for Saturday's qualifying final against the Sydney Swans at Domain Stadium.
But ruckman Jon Griffin has already been ruled out of the blockbuster clash because of a hamstring injury.
Fyfe has missed the past two matches because of inflammation in his left leg, but coach Ross Lyon said the Brownlow Medal favourite was a good chance to return against the Swans.
"I spoke to him today. He feels a million bucks. And the conditioners and physios are really confident that he'll be fine," Lyon said on Monday.
"But the next hurdle is he'll train over the next few days and do our main session on Thursday, and then he'll need to declare himself (fit) like he basically declared himself today.
Lyon said Michael Walters was a certain starter after missing the past two weeks with calf soreness.
The coach added fellow small forward Hayden Ballantyne would be available for selection but was no certainty to be picked, given he has not played since round 16 after having surgery to repair a torn pectoral.
"Hayden's every chance, but he's no guarantee," Lyon said.
"That's the difficult one. He'll be fit and available to play. It just comes down to match committee, the balance of the team."
Griffin has been ruled out but Lyon said he did not know how long the big man would be out for.
Defender Cam Sutcliffe would be available despite dislocating his shoulder in round 22.
That opens the door for Zac Clarke, Jack Hannath and Matt Taberner to remain in the side. All three played against Port Adelaide last week but none has been a regular in the second half of the season. Clarke was dropped following the Dockers' round 15 loss to Hawthorn, Taberner lost his place after round 17 and Hannath has played just three matches for the season.
"Taberner played OK on the weekend, and Clarke was OK, but I didn't think anyone was brilliant," Lyon said.
"There are a number of options. The obvious ones are Clarke and Hannath. (Zac) Dawson can ruck. Will he go on and off ball with (Kurt) Tippett.
"That can be done and has been done before and Taberner can ruck as well, so that needs to be worked through as well."
Lyon did suggest that Aaron Sandilands could also ruck on his own if necessary.
Defender Cam Sutcliffe will be available despite dislocating his shoulder in round 22.
The Dockers made 12 changes last week but could make up to 14 this week.
Lyon said his side had handled this situation before without any problems.
"Clearly, it's unusual," Lyon said.
"I did it in 2013.
"The opportunity arose to give our guys a rest or manage some injuries. We're hoping it's beneficial. There's no guarantee on that. But we believe it will be. The proof will be in the pudding."
