PORT Adelaide has secured speedster Jared Polec on a two-year contract extension.
After playing all but one of the Power's 25 games last season, the 22-year-old has inked a new deal to keep him at the club until at least the end of 2018.
Polec, who was one of five players to walk out on the Brisbane Lions at the end of 2013, delivered on his obvious talent last year and relished the hard-running brand of football demanded by Port coach Ken Hinkley.
He slotted straight into the Power's best 22 after playing 16 games in three seasons at the Lions, with his line-breaking run helping carry the Power to a preliminary final berth.
The former No.5 NAB AFL Draft pick took the seventh-most bounces of any player last season (54), averaged 19.6 disposals and booted 17 goals.
After an uninterrupted pre-season, Polec was among the Power's best players in their enthralling round one loss to Fremantle, gathering 29 touches and taking seven marks at Domain Stadium.
