GEELONG veteran Andrew Mackie will continue his decorated career with the Cats after re-signing with the club to play for two more years.
Mackie, 31, played 15 games in 2015 after tweaking a thigh injury in round two that saw him not play his second game for the season until round eight.
He averaged 21 disposals for the season and was close to best on ground in the final round against Adelaide, his superb ball use a highlight.
He has played in three premierships and is a respected figure at the club.
"We didn’t achieve what we hoped for this year, but the blocks are in place for more success. We are hungry to get back into the finals and I know we all feel the same way," Mackie told the Cats' website.
Cats' football manager Steve Hocking said Mackie was a fantastic leader who provided a great example to the young players.
The Cats are also understood to have come to terms with emerging defender Jake Kolodjashnij, re-signing him for two seasons.
The 20-year-old played nine games since making his debut in round 12 against Melbourne. A good contested mark, he looks set for a long career at Geelong.
The Cats have re-signed Steve Motlop for two seasons and are expected to announce that Corey Enright has decided to play on for another season.
