AUSTRALIAN acts including a four-piece supergroup made up of members of some of the country’s most successful bands will perform at this year's Foxtel Footy Festival.
The line-up features Kingswood, Pierce Brothers, Nussy and DJ Generik, all from Melbourne, and the Antipodean Rock 'n' Roll Collective, whose members have played for bands such as Spiderbait, Jet, Powderfinger and You Am I.
Kingswood, which features Fergus Linacre, Alex Laska, Jeremy Hunter and Justin Debrincat, has performed at festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Big Day Out, Groovin The Moo and Falls.
The band's debut album, Microscopic Wars, entered the ARIA charts at No.6 and was nominated for ARIA’s best rock album.
Pierce Brothers started busking in Melbourne and are now playing to sell-out rooms in the United Kingdom, Canada and Europe. Twins Jack and Pat Pierce have sold more than 50,000 copies of their independently released EPs, with their next EP, Into The Dirt, released on September 25.
Nussy can do it all – she writes, sings, is a fashion icon and a "killer" DJ. Described as "a quirky pop starlet", Nussy has a self-titled EP and has been making waves in the Australian music scene.
Antipodean Rock 'n' Roll Collective features Kram (drummer and vocalist for Spiderbait and The Wrights), Mark Wilson (bassist, pianist and backing vocalist from Jet), Darren Middleton (guitarist and songwriter from Powderfinger and now a solo artist) and Davey Lane (guitarist from You Am I, The Pictures and The Wrights).
