SpiritWest Foundation (SWF) is the community arm of the Western Bulldogs with a long proud history of providing a range of social programs to those in need throughout the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Recently they have employed an Executive Manager who, together with the SWF Board, is very keen to grow the organisation further and deliver an expanded range of programs themselves and in partnership with other like-minded groups. The Community Empowerment Team currently focuses on engaging, connecting and empowering people from refugee backgrounds.
The Community Empowerment Manager will report to the Executive Manager with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the Settlement Services Program and ensuring services are highly effective and relevant to the target communities
- Ensuring continual improvement of programs through strong planning, monitoring and evaluation processes
- Ensuring all program development and evaluation occurs in consultation with the target community
- Assisting with the preparation and management of operational budgets
- Assisting the Fundraising Team to develop funding applications
- Meeting with, and presenting to, funding bodies as requested
- Ensuring all programs meet deliverables and other requirements as stipulated by funding agreements
- Providing reports on the delivery of services to management
- Assisting Fundraising Team with acquittals
- Developing and maintaining extensive networks with relevant Community organisations
- Representing SWF on internal and external committees
- Managing the Community Empowerment Team
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with demonstrated experience within the not-for-profit and community sectors. You will have a passion for the West and have built existing relationships within Government and with other like-minded community organisations.
