Young midfielder Rory Atkins made a strong return from a pre-season right knee injury, gathering a career-high 32 touches and 10 clearances in his first appearance of the year.
Another luckless Crow, defender Sam Shaw, had 23 disposals in his first competitive match since having surgery to repair a recurring left hamstring injury last September.
Rookie Keenan Ramsey kicked two majors in the Crows' 20-point loss.

This weekend: Sydney Swans v Brisbane Lions - Saturday May 30, 12pm, Newcastle Oval
It was a tough week for the Lions' reserves against the Swans, going down by 74 points.
Mitch Golby was back in the NEAFL after five straight AFL games, and he battled hard to be among his team's best alongside rangy defender Josh McGuiness and athletic tall Jordan Bourke, who continued his strong NEAFL form.

Ruckman Matthew Kreuzer made an encouraging return to the field after missing last round with calf soreness.
The 26-year-old, who has now taken part in three VFL games since returning from a persistent right foot injury, had 17 disposals and 37 hit-outs before being rested in the final quarter.
Midfielder David Ellard was the Blues' leading ball winner with 24 disposals and nine tackles, while Mark Whiley had 22 touches and seven clearances in the side's 28-point loss.
Defender-turned-forward Matthew Watson led the goalkicking with two majors.

Injury-prone versatile tall Ben Reid played three quarters in defence, before being rested in the final term of his side's 38-point win.
Midfielder Clinton Young also got through unscathed after being eased into the match after quarter-time in his return from a hamstring injury.
In attack, omitted onballer Tim Broomhead and forward Patrick Karnezis were prominent all game with three goals apiece, while youngster Ben Kennedy was also named among the best.

Alex Browne returned to form with a superb midfield performance in the Bombers' 44-point win over Richmond.
He played mostly on a wing and gave the team great overlap run, working hard for his teammates and kicking one goal.
Midfielder Elliott Kavanagh, who is yet to break into the senior team this season, was also outstanding pushing back to help the defence in another strong performance.
Tayte Pears booted two goals and Shaun Edwards finished with one.

Utility Matt de Boer led the way for the Docker-listed players with 27 possessions (14 kicks, 13 handballs) and 10 tackles in Peel's heavy 72-point defeat.
Forward Hayden Crozier played his role with 25 touches (14 kicks, 11 handballs) and 10 marks, while draftee Lachie Weller continued his good run with 23 touches (14 kicks, nine handballs).
Peel managed just six goals for the match, with tall Jack Hannath the only multiple goalkicker with two.

George Horlin-Smith returned from a groin injury in fine fashion, racking up 27 possessions in the Cats' nail-biting two-point loss to Williamstown.
Horlin-Smith, who last played at AFL level in round five, was among his team's best players, racking up 15 contested possessions and a team-high seven clearances, kicking one goal.
Sam Blease, who has played just one AFL game this season at his second club, was solid with 19 possessions, while young defender Jake Kolodjashnij was in the team's best players.

Defender Clay Cameron, tall Peter Wright, rookie Greg Broughton, experienced defender Nick Malceski and ruckman Zac Smith were named among the Suns' best in their heavy 74-point defeat.
The Suns registered just four goals for the match, with Wright and rookies Louis Herbert, Jarred Ellis and Tyrone Downie booting one goal each.

The 24-year-old finished with three goals, nine marks and had 18 touches in his side's 28-point win.
Midfielder Jonathan Simpkin put in a best-on-ground performance with 36 possessions and three goals, while on-baller Jonathan O'Rourke (28 touches) and Alex Woodward (23 disposals) also had a significant impact.

Big man Majak Daw strengthened his case for an AFL call-up with five goals, eight marks and 18 disposals in Werribee's 40-point loss.
Hard nut Leigh Adams made a successful return after overcoming a concussion he sustained in a VFL practice match in March.
The 27-year-old was eased into the match, finishing with 28 disposals and five tackles in an encouraging comeback.
For North Ballarat, promising forward Taylor Garner finished with 10 touches, five tackles, five inside 50s and a goal after taking part in the first half of the Roosters' 80-point loss.
Omitted defender Ben Jacobs responded well with 32 touches mainly through the midfield, while fellow backman Aaron Mullett had 24 possessions as he continues to build match fitness after overcoming a left shoulder injury.

Midfielder Andrew Moore was prolific in the Magpies' eight-point win, gathering 24 disposals (15 kicks, nine handballs), 10 clearances, five marks and five tackles.
The 24-year-old was complemented by fellow on-baller Kane Mitchell with 24 disposals (13 kicks, 11 handballs), five clearances and five tackles.
Midfielder Aaron Young (22 touches) and rookie Tom Logan (16) were also named among Port's best players.
Forwards Jake Neade (eight touches) and Mitch Harvey (14 touches, seven marks) registered three goals each.

Defender Todd Elton pushed forward to kick two goals in a tough afternoon for the Tigers' VFL team, which was without regular goalkicker Liam McBean after his promotion to the seniors.
Midfielder Matt Arnot returned to the team and had 22 possessions, while small forward Sam Lloyd booted one goal after a one-match spell.
AFL-listed players Matt McDonough and Ben Lennon each kicked goals but weren't prolific ball-winners as they search to break back into the senior team.

Prized youngster Paddy McCartin suffered concussion in Sandringham's 40-point win over Werribee, taking no part in the game after half time.
McCartin dived for the ball and was collected high, winning a free kick but leaving the ground for treatment while his team went on for a big win against the VFL's top side.

After being dropped back to the NEAFL, Swans forward Dean Towers made a statement with four goals in the reserves' 74-point win over the Brisbane Lions.
Young ruckman Toby Nankervis (three) and key tall Sean McLaren (two) also hit the scoreboard, while academy selection Abe David and ruckman Tom Derickx were in the Swans' best.

Scott Lycett kicked four goals playing predominantly up forward in East Perth's 48-point win over West Perth at Medibank Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Patrick McGinnity collected 26 possessions. Kane Lucas gathered 21 disposals and Xavier Ellis picked up 17 on his WAFL league return. Tom Barrass took six marks and had 12 disposals in defence while young forward Malcolm Karpany kicked two goals.

Tall Ayce Cordy responded well to his demotion from the seniors, kicking four goals in the Bulldogs' 66-point victory.
Omitted defender Michael Talia (25), draftee Toby McLean (24) and backman Sam Darley (22) were among the Bulldogs' major ball winners.
Forward Jack Redpath was a late withdrawal from the match.
