MATTHEW Watson is among four players delisted by Carlton on Friday as the overhaul of the Blues' playing stocks starts under new coach Brendon Bolton.
Watson, Carlton’s first-round selection in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft (overall No. 18), could not hold down a regular spot in the Blues’ line-up over his five seasons at Ikon Park.

This season the long-kicking left-footer, 23, managed to play only four games, bringing his total to 23.
The Blues also delisted Cameron Giles, who has endured a horror run with persistent foot problems since joining the club. The South Australian, taken as a third-round pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft (overall No. 39), did not play a senior game.
He had returned to play recently in the club’s VFL-affiliate Northern Blues development squad.
Rookies Blaine Johnson, who played two senior games this season, and Fraser Russell were also delisted.
Carlton’s football operations manager Andrew McKay thanked the four players for their commitment and dedication during their time at Ikon Park.
“Each of these players has made a contribution to our football club and I would like to thank them for their hard work over the journey,” McKay said.
“Matthew Watson departs after 23 AFL games and Blaine Johnson after seven. Both provided some exciting moments for us.
“Unfortunately injury restricted Cameron Giles to just seven games in the VFL and much of his time at Ikon Park was spent in rehabilitation. He should be commended for all his hard work and the way he went about his rehab.
“Likewise Fraser Russell, who was a Category B rookie, never made his debut at the senior level, but he worked hard and made a solid contribution to the Northern Blues.”
These four delistings brings the total number of changes to the Blues’ 2015 list to eight.
Andrew Carrazzo, David Ellard and Chris Judd have retired. Lachie Henderson left the club before the end of the season and has requested a trade.
