FORMER Brisbane Lions captain Jed Adcock will train with the Western Bulldogs this week ahead of Tuesday night's NAB AFL Draft and Friday's rookie draft.
Adcock was dumped by the Lions this season after 206 games, but told AFL.com.au he believed he had at least three seasons left in him.
His four-goal, 21-disposal effort against the Bulldogs in round 23 this year enforced his self-belief that he had more to offer an AFL club.
That was a match-winning performance as the Lions upset the highly fancied Dogs by eight points.
Adock wants to go around again
The 30-year-old Adcock will hope to be granted a place on either the Bulldogs' senior or rookie list this week to extend his AFL career.
He was initially drafted by the Lions with pick 33 in 2003, making his debut in round seven, 2004.
In 2007 he finished second to Jonathan Brown in the club's best-and-fairest award and was in the initial All Australian squad.
Adcock co-captained the Lions with Brown in 2013, and was the sole captain the following year before handing over the leadership to Tom Rockliff this season.
