GEELONG has accepted the Match Review Panel's decision to hand key forward Tom Hawkins a one-match suspension for striking Greater Western Sydney defender Phil Davis.
Hawkins was grappling with Davis and made contact to his opponent's chin and neck with his left hand early in the fourth quarter of Saturday's clash at Spotless Stadium.
The star Cat will now miss Saturday night's blockbuster against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
Geelong risked a two-match ban if it chose to fight the charge at the Tribunal, which was graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the head.
In other news, Marc Pittonet could be in line for his second AFL game, with suspended Hawthorn ruckman Jon Ceglar to miss the clash with Essendon.
Ben McEvoy has confirmed Ceglar accepted the one-match ban for striking Melbourne's Jesse Hogan.
McEvoy might handle the ruck load alone against the Bombers on Friday night but said 20-year-old Pittonet had been in good form in the VFL and might go into the line-up for the MCG match.
Essendon's Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti escaped suspension for his high bump on Fremantle forward Chris Mayne and accepted his $1000 fine.
Lions midfielder Dayne Zorko accepted his $1000 fine for striking Carlton's Dale Thomas and Gold Coast forward Tom Lynch accepted a $1500 fine for striking Sydney Swans defender Jeremy Laidler in the stomach.
The AFL Tribunal will not sit tonight, after all players accepted the sanctions offered by the Match Review Panel after review of R11.
