GREATER Western Sydney midfielder Ryan Griffen could miss a number of weeks after suffering a 'nasty ankle injury' against North Melbourne on Saturday.
The veteran suffered the injury in the second quarter and played no further part in the 42-point win
"It's a pretty nasty ankle injury," coach Leon Cameron said.
"We'll have to deal with that and see where it ends up in the next few days."
"Even last week I thought he played a great game, Griffen, on (Gary) Ablett, curtailing his influence when he came in on the ball.
"His first quarter and a half we were really rapt and then it was just unfortunate he’s hurt his ankle and we’ll find out in a few days’ time how significant that is."
Co-captain Phil Davis was another injury concern for the Giants, pulling up sore following a high-impact collision with North skipper Jack Ziebell in the final term.
"Phil was just in the road and has hurt his shoulder, but hopefully it's not that significant. He's a tough player," Cameron said.
The Giants coach was pleased to come away with the win in 'tough' conditions at Blundtsone Arena in Hobart.
"It was really pleasing that we found a way in really hard, tough conditions that we probably haven’t been used to," Cameron said.
"I thought in the first and third quarters when we played into the wind, we played some really smart footy at times and that was the pleasing thing, because in the past young players and young squads can panic and make poor decisions.
"We need to be a bit better with our entries and we’ll look at that during the week, but I prefer to deal with that issue than a contested ball issue, or a tackling issue.
"If it's in the front half of our ground I think we can tidy that up a bit, but you've got to give credit to the Kangaroos."

Much of the pre-game talk had been around the reported megadeal offered by North Melbourne to gun Giants midfielder Josh Kelly and Cameron admitted he’d been impressed with the way the 22-year-old had handled himself during a best-on-ground performance.
"We're really rapt with the way he's going inside and he’s got an elite engine," Cameron said.
"No doubt that was the first time in his short career that there’s going to be a bit of speculation about him."
