COLLINGWOOD recruit Daniel Wells will be in the mix to make his club debut on Anzac Day after emerging unscathed from his VFL return on Saturday afternoon.
Wells, 32, was signed as a free agent on a three-year deal after coming across from North Melbourne but hasn't yet represented the Pies after battling persistent calf issues.
He spent most of his time against Coburg at Piranha Park in the midfield and up forward, before moving to defence in the final minutes as the Pies held on by two points, 9.10 (64) to 9.8 (62).

The original plan was to have Wells sit out a quarter but he ended up playing the full contest.
"It was just good (for Wells) to get through a game. He played 70-75 per cent, played his role and clearly late in the game, his composure down back, and to get that spoil across the line, was really good," Collingwood VFL coach Jared Rivers said.
"Hopefully he pulls up well and no doubt he'll be in (the mix for) selection next week."
The club will assess how Wells pulls up before making a decision on whether he lines up at senior level versus Essendon.
"They're pretty keen to get him in because he's a pretty good player. We'll see how he pulls up then assess from there," Rivers said.
Wells said after the game his calf did not cause him any concern.
"I've had a fair bit of time to get this right and it's been good so far. I didn't get any signs of it. I'm just looking forward to seeing how it recovers now," Wells said.
