IN ONE of the most closely-fought seasons in living memory, we've been treated to a cavalcade of comebacks, thrill-a-minute blockbusters and gripping finishes.

We've sifted through the year's matches to select the six most memorable, and it's your job to decide the best.

The nominees are ...

GWS v Richmond, round nine

The Tigers thought they'd sealed it with 80 seconds to play, but a goal from debutant Shai Bolton was overturned, and the Giants took it the length of the field from the kick in, where Jeremy Cameron nailed the winner on the run.

Sydney v Hawthorn, round 10

The Hawks led by 22 points early, only for the Swans to snatch the lead in the fourth quarter. A brave brown and gold performance at the SCG looked to no avail until goals to Shaun Burgoyne then Jarryd Roughead – from 50m, with 90 seconds left – delivered a memorable win.

West Coast v GWS, round 10

The Giants rated this victory as good as any in club history. Severely undermanned, they stormed West Coast's fortress and notched a maiden eight-point win over the Eagles. There were eight lead changes in a gripping final quarter, with Toby Greene's late heroics sealing the points.

Collingwood v Adelaide, round 19

The Magpies had the game in the bag when they led by 50 points early in the third quarter. But the Crows wouldn't go away, Mitch McGovern taking a huge pack mark a few seconds before the final siren and then kicking the goal to secure a draw. – Lee Gaskin

Sydney Swans v Essendon, round 14

The Bombers looked to have halted their horrible Sydney record when they led by 17 points at the 24-minute mark of the last term. But the ghosts returned and Gary Rohan gave the home side the win after the final siren. A loss that helped wreck their finals chances.

Geelong v Hawthorn, round 17

This had everything: five goals from hobbled superstar Patrick Dangerfield, it was Luke Hodge's 300th game, no more than 17 points between them all day, and a dramatic final moment. Isaac Smith could have won the game for the Hawks, but his shot on goal, after playing on, sailed right.
