THERE are great players, there are flashes of brilliance, and then there are the days when it all comes together in one scintillating performance.

We've selected the six standout performances in individual matches this season, and it's your job to choose the very best.

The nominees are ...

Robbie Gray v Fremantle, round two

Playing the majority of the game as a deep forward, Gray tore the Dockers apart with six goals and 30 possessions in the Power's 89-point thumping of Ross Lyon's men. Gray was almost unstoppable in one-on-one contests.

Lance Franklin v Brisbane Lions, round seven

The Swans were winless until Franklin turned it on at the SCG in round seven, booting a goal inside 40 seconds and finishing with 8.4 against the hapless Lions. He even threw in a trademark 80m bomb in the second term.

Dustin Martin v Carlton, round one

The brilliant midfielder asserted himself in the final quarter, drawing on his entire bag of tricks with fend offs and a 75m torpedo to set up goals and seal victory. He carved through the midfield with 33 possessions and six clearances, and was often isolated inside 50 to boot four goals.

Patrick Dangerfield v Hawthorn, round 17

A foot injury looked to have ended the Cats champion's day at quarter-time. But after gingerly limping deep forward after the first break he went berserk in the second and third quarters, kicking 5.4 (and ending the day with 5.6). He took nine marks, had 13 disposals and two score assists in that time in an unforgettable performance.

Michael Walters v St Kilda, round 15

It was Walters against the Saints as the silky-skilled Dockers star went on a goalkicking spree from midfield in a nine-point loss. Walters was unstoppable. He helped create with 32 touches – 18 contested - and then was the finisher as well with 6.2 in a stunning individual display.

Dayne Zorko v Geelong, round 16

An incredible lone hand by the explosive midfielder as the Lions were being blown away by the Cats. Zorko finished with 36 disposals, four goals, 12 tackles and 10 clearances in a mammoth night out at the Gabba. His long-range goals were a feature.
