GOLD COAST has appointed Craig Cameron as its new general manager of list and strategy and Jon Haines as its general manager of football operations.

The two key appointments continue a football department restructure that started with last month's announcement of Stuart Dew as coach to replace the sacked Rodney Eade.

Cameron will take over from inaugural list manager Scott Clayton, who will remain at the club through the upcoming draft period.

Cameron, who had a messy departure from GWS on Monday, will start at the Suns in mid-December.

Haines comes to Gold Coast from the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) where he held the role of executive manager football operations.

Prior to this role with the WAFC, Haines, spent four years at North Melbourne as both a general manager of football operations and general manager of development.

Gold Coast CEO Mark Evans said Haines' extensive industry experience made him a perfect fit for the young Suns.

"He will be responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the football program, and leading the coaching and high performance, player welfare and development, players and football administration areas," Evans said.

"Craig has a history in recruiting and list management.

"He will oversee this area as well as our fast-growing talent academy programs where our aim is to be the best club in the country at integrating our male and female academies and pathways, all the way up to our elite AFL teams."

Cameron leaves the Giants after 18 months as their list manager.
