LANCE Franklin has no case to answer for the incident on Friday night that could have been interpreted as staging for a free kick. 

The Sydney spearhead raised eyebrows in the third quarter when he appeared to exaggerate a push in the side from West Coast captain Shannon Hurn. 

Franklin kept his feet in the incident but was paid a free kick and awarded a shot at goal, which he converted before the Swans went on to win by 15 points. 

It led to Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor to quip, "I wonder if that was Alex Rance, whether we'd be saying there was a bit of mayo on it?"

Rance was fined $1000 for staging for a free kick in Richmond's win over Essendon two weeks ago. 

AFL match review officer Michael Christian said there were no charges laid out of the game and no other incidents that required a detailed explanation.
