THE WESTERN Bulldogs have lost another player to a bone stress injury, with in-form utility Bailey Williams set to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines.
Williams suffered soreness following the Bulldogs' thrilling two-point win over Geelong last weekend, with scans revealing an area of low-grade bone stress in the metatarsal bone of his foot.
The club said the 20-year-old will be managed conservatively with a rehabilitation program.
It's a big blow for Dogs, as the South Australian was having a breakout year as a intercepting defender and, more recently, as a goalkicking midfielder.
Williams becomes the third Bulldog to be struck down by bone stress this season after Bailey Dale and Tim English succumbed to the injury.
Dale will miss the rest of the season after complaining of pain following the round 10 loss to Collingwood, while English is expected to resume through the VFL this weekend after two months in the rehab group.
