TRIPLE premiership Hawk Brian Lake has spent the night detained by authorities after being arrested following an alcohol-fuelled evening in Japan on Sunday.
The 2013 Norm Smith medallist has been playing football in the AFL Asia competition in Osaka in recent days.
The former Bulldog, who joined Hawthorn at the end of 2012, was infamously locked up overnight after a day at the Portsea polo tournament before playing his first game for the Hawks.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed it was aware of the issue.
"The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is making inquiries about an Australian in Japan who may require consular assistance and stands ready to provide assistance, in accordance with the Consular Services Charter, should it be requested," a spokesperson said.
