GODFREY Okerenyang from the Coolamon Hoppers has claimed a thrilling victory in the Grand Final Sprint, pipping Melton South speedster Melvin Monieh by the barest of margins.
Okerenyang, 16, and fellow youngster Monieh were neck and neck for the entire race, but it was the former who held off his rival to take the honours.

Fremantle tall forward Matt Taberner burst out of the blocks and was leading after 20m, before Geelong's Jordan Murdoch zoomed past him.

Murdoch was in front at the halfway mark but on the outside Okerenyang and Monieh came flying past.
The pair of invitees were step for step until the last desperate lunge got Okerenyang home, with Murdoch coming in third.
