PORT Adelaide captaincy contender Ollie Wines has injured his shoulder in a water skiing accident.
Wines suffered the injury when he was water skiing near Mannum – a town on the bank of the Murray River about 84 kilometres east of Adelaide – on Saturday.

He will have scans later this week to determine the extent of the injury, but trained on Monday, running laps without strapping on either shoulder.
The injury is potentially a huge blow for the Power, with Wines a major part of their midfield as they aim to return to the finals.
The 24-year-old is also one of the frontrunners to become the Power's next skipper, a role that is currently vacant after Travis Boak stepped down at the end of last year.

Wines has played 129 games for the Power and last year signed a four-year contract extension until the end of 2022.
