IT MIGHT be early in the 2019 AFL season, with just six rounds played so far this year, but the indicative draft order already provides for some interesting reading.

As things stand just over a quarter of the way through the year, Adelaide would hold pick No.4 at the NAB AFL Draft and Carlton would have No.10 following last year's high-profile live trade.

The deal, which is bound to be talked about through the season, also helped the Blues net Liam Stocker after the Crows parted with last year's first-round selection to get a deal done.

Melbourne would hold pick No.1 following a dismal start to the campaign, while North Melbourne and Sydney round out the top three selections as things currently stand.

Greater Western Sydney would have picks No.9 and No.15 following a trade taking Dylan Shiel to Essendon last year, while Gold Coast also holds dual first-round picks.

The Suns would have picks No.6 and No.12 after a trade with the Lions, who would get pick No.16 back following a deal with the Pies that helped land them Dayne Beams.
