CARLTON interim coach David Teague has credited his side's mid-season renaissance to a more demanding team environment following its upset win over Sydney on Saturday.
The Blues' seven-point win at the SCG was their third win from their past five games, after winning just four of their last 43 matches under former coach Brendon Bolton.
The Blues were well led by co-captain Patrick Cripps, who dominated in the midfield along with Matthew Kreuzer, Sam Walsh and Ed Curnow – who helped negate the influence of Swans star Luke Parker.

Teague praised his side for putting on its best four-quarter performance of the year against quality opposition.
When questioned on what had changed since he took over as coach, Teague said he had really clarified the role of individual players and demanded they get the job done.

"We're not asking them, we're not hoping they do it, they've got to get it done," Teague said.
"The demand of each player on each other has been really strong as well.
"That's what we're looking (for), people playing their roles and right now we're getting more guys doing it than not, which is putting us in contests and we've been lucky enough to win a few."

Despite the impressive start to his senior coaching career, Teague said he was not yet thinking about taking the role on permanently.
"To be honest, I'm just loving the ride at the moment," Teague said.
"I'm learning a lot about the playing group, I'm learning a lot about myself as a coach.
"Right now, I'm focusing on the players, and seeing their faces in the rooms after (the win), that brings a lot of joy to me and to the people of this football club and our supporters."

The win follows comments from football director Chris Judd this week that the club "don't want someone with training wheels on" to take the senior coaching job.
While many suggested this was a dig at Teague, the interim coach himself said he was not too fussed by Judd's comments.
"It honestly doesn't faze me too much. I'm loving my job at the moment and I've got a job to do and I've got to keep doing it," Teague said.
"That's my focus right now. I'm enjoying it and I'll continue to grow and learn while doing it."
