ADELAIDE midfielder Hugh Greenwood will head overseas for the next month as he weighs up his future.
The out-of-contract Crow set tongues wagging with an Instagram post on Tuesday when he said: "Season 4 in the books. Thank you to those that continue to make this crazy dream a reality. 2020 is about to be the best yet."
However, Greenwood has not re-signed with the club and will spend the next month in America as he considers where he will play in 2020.
He is due back in early October ahead of the start of the NAB AFL Trade Period, with no further talks set until the Crows finish their external football review.
The 27-year-old ball-winner has been searching for a longer deal at the Crows and his preference has been to stay at the club, having made his AFL debut as a 25-year-old after a successful basketball career.
But other clubs have also had Greenwood on their radar, with Hawthorn, Gold Coast and Brisbane among the rivals interested.
He is in a similar boat to former cricketer Alex Keath, who is also looking for a longer-term contract at the Crows. Keath was spotted touring St Kilda's facilities on Monday.
Alex Keath toured St Kilda's Moorabbin headquarters on Monday.
Half-forward Riley Knight is also in limbo, despite playing 15 games this season.
The 24-year-old, who played in the club's Grand Final loss to Richmond two years ago as a regular member of that line-up, has not yet been offered a new contract for 2020.
Any movement is unlikely before the end of the NAB AFL Trade Period.
Riley Knight is yet to receive a contract offer from the Crows.
Veteran ruckman Sam Jacobs' future is also up in the air, having been courted by Greater Western Sydney.
The Giants are searching for another ruck option, with co-captain Phil Davis believed to be strongly involved in their push for Jacobs.
The pair were teammates at the Crows in 2011 before Davis departed Adelaide to join the Giants ahead of their inaugural 2012 season.
Big-bodied midfielder Cameron Ellis-Yolmen also remains out of contract for the Crows, who finished out of the finals for the second straight season since 2017.
Sam Jacobs and Phil Davis remain good friends after playing together in Adelaide in 2011.
