NORTH Melbourne's Nick Dal Santo has backed a proposal to hair-test players four times during the year.
Hawthorn veteran Sam Mitchell has put the idea to the players association as calls grow for a tougher illicit drugs policy in the game.
The proposal would mean an increase in the number of times that players undergo hair tests for illicit drugs during the year.
"Me personally, it wouldn't bother me, at all," Dal Santo said.
"I still believe in privacy though, and I still believe in helping guys.
"So if that's the model and that's the system we want to go by, then I'm happy to support it."
The AFL's current three-strikes illicit drugs policy is separate to the standard ASADA performance enhancing drugs code.
