Essendon Football Club has a reputation as a leader in the Australian sports industry and we are committed to our vision of being recognised as the most respected, inclusive and successful sporting club in the country, consistently setting the benchmark both on and off the field.  We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Retention & Engagement Manager to ‘Don the Sash’ and join our Membership Team based at our club headquarters in Melbourne Airport. 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Membership, a unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated and passionate individual to take accountability for the end to end member retention and engagement strategies. They will have a passion for ensuring customer satisfaction and have vast experience in direct customer marketing with a proven ability to meet growth and yield targets.

Working closely with the Membership Operations Manager, this role will manage the Milestone Recognition program and attend match day functions where they will host our most valued members.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for the role, candidates must have the following essential skills and experience in: 

• Campaign management with the ability to deliver integrated campaign across online and offline channels
• Customer retention and early engagement programs with a proven result to lower churn, preferably in a member based organisation
• Managing cost budgets and reporting
• Improve and managing a rewards program for customers who purchase high margin/value products
• Stakeholder management, managing both critical internal and external relationship
• Ability to work flexibly across 7 days during the football season
• Permanent Residency in Australia, or appropriate visa to work permanently 

Other attributes which we would value but are not essential include:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications combined with a minimum of 5 years industry experience
• Previous direct marketing experience or experience in a member based organisation
