WHEN David Teague took over the coaching role at the Blues, it wasn't just ladder positions they began to climb. More importantly, the Fantasy output from a large number of key personnel also rose.
This is a great sign moving forward and if the end-of-season form is anything to go by, we may have some underpriced options who shone with the new playing style.

You only had to look at the likes of Marc Murphy (MID, $712,000) who thrived with the shackles off, finishing the year in vintage fashion with an average of 113 in his last five games.

Lock them in
Patrick Cripps (MID, $753,000) has elevated himself to one of the undeniable superstars of the competition and he basically did it in a year hampered by injury and some uncustomary low scores following the close attention of taggers (which he usually brushed off). His best is in the uber-elite bracket and he is underpriced after averaging just 101, down from 109 in 2018.
Track their pre-season
Ed Curnow (MID, $667,000) was another who thrived in the back end of the season. He embraced the opportunity to move back into the midfield where he averaged 100 in 2018 and once again flourished in the role. After the bye he scored triple figures on six occasions for an average of 105 and presents some value given he is priced at an average of 90.
2019’S BIGGEST STORIES We count down the top 50 stories of the year 5-1
Dual-position tempter
After playing a variety of roles, highly touted Blue Sam Petrevski-Seton (DEF/MID, $577,000) found himself playing across half-back enough to earn defender status. That could come in very handy if he in fact plays up the ground with the likes of Kade Simpson, Sam Docherty and Nic Newman pushing him back towards the midfield. He is coming into his fourth year and after averaging in the 70s for two seasons in a row, it feels like he could be on the verge of a breakout year.
Draft sleeper
After weeks of speculation, Jack Martin (FWD/MID, $619,000) finally became a Blue and finds himself in a prime position to live up to his undeniable potential. The fact he is available as a forward but is every chance to play extended minutes through the midfield is an eye-catcher for a player who started 2019 in ripping form for the Suns with two 110+ scores in the first three rounds. Can he elevate his game beyond his current three-year ceiling of 83? I think 'yes', which makes him an interesting Draft prospect with big upside.
Bargain basement
The Blues obviously saw something in Liam Stocker (DEF, $285,000) to grab him following the infamous pick swap with the Crows. Now, although he didn't show much from his five games with a top score of just 52, he will be given every chance to succeed and can be selected as a defender. The reason I highlight the defender eligibility is because he was drafted as an inside mid and has every intention of earning a spot in there.
Forgotten warrior
After a pre-season injury shattered our dreams of selecting an underpriced Sam Docherty (DEF, $563,000) during last year's pre-season, we are now poised to pounce on the elite defender… and for a ridiculously discounted price. It doesn't get much better back there, in his last season (way back in 2017) he averaged 117 while pumping out five scores over 140. My first picked player!
Buyer beware
Is the 'second-year blues' a real thing? If you are a believer, you better say no to rookie sensation Sam Walsh (MID, $684,000) who averaged 92 on debut which included seven hundreds. Actually, even if you are a believer in second-year blues, Walsh is a rule-breaking star who will average triple figures in 2020.
