JORDAN De Goey's mega contract negotiations have taken a twist with the Collingwood superstar's sudden split from his agent. 

Ahead of a season where he will fall out of contract and command multimillion-dollar rival offers, the 23-year-old has walked out on manager Ben Niall. 

Niall, along with his client and De Goey's Collingwood teammate Jeremy Howe, helped steer De Goey through his difficult start to 2018 when he was caught drink driving.

The matchwinner was hit with a range of penalties from Collingwood, including being suspended indefinitely, fined $10,000 and made to do charity work.

"I've stood by him in the darkest moments, the best of Jordy is very good. I wish him the best and nothing but success going forward," Niall told AFL.com.au.

De Goey will now search for his third agent after a previous partnership with TLA's Nick Gieschen, who is poised to join rival firm Connors Sports. 

It has left management firms across Melbourne jostling for De Goey's services and to secure the forward, who is set to enter the prime of his career with endless endorsement opportunities. 

Niall signed De Goey's two-year contract extension for 2019 and 2020 during 2018 after knocking back monster deals from clubs including St Kilda and North Melbourne. 

De Goey forfeited a significant pay rise as he opted for a short-term last contract to show faith to the Magpies, but is eyeing a long-term deal once this contract expires. 

Both the Roos and Saints appear likely to come calling again as the Pies prepare to enter talks with a new agent to ink their most prized out-of-contract signature.

Given Brodie Grundy's seven-year commitment, De Goey's commitment is at the front of the queue in terms of needs for a bulging Pies salary cap. 

Star defender Darcy Moore is also set to fall out of contract this year, along with Mason Cox and captain Scott Pendlebury, who is seen as no threat of leaving.

Moore's manager Liam Pickering of Precision Sports Entertainment Group said on Tuesday he had been in discussions with the Pies about a new deal for Moore and will be meeting the club again this week. 

Pickering is seen as a possible front-runner to secure De Goey given his close relationship with the agency's current client Dane Swan. 

Pickering's history of landing colossal deals – including Gary Ablett, Lance Franklin and Tom Boyd – is also seen as a drawcard. 

De Goey has also been linked to a move to Connors Sports, while Dustin Martin's agent Ralph Carr looms as a left-field option with De Goey holding a friendship with the Tigers' premiership hero.
