Most consecutive games: Rory Laird (31), Jake Kelly (24), Daniel Talia (22), Brodie Smith (22), Rory Sloane (22), Taylor Walker (22), Brad Crouch (22)
Not a high bar set at the Crows given all their injuries two years ago. Dual All-Australian defender Rory Laird hasn't missed a game since round 15, 2018. A creative player in the back half of the ground, Laird will be important for the rebuilding Crows if they are to surpass expectations this year.

BRISBANE

Most consecutive games: Stefan Martin (71), Dayne Zorko (50), Lachie Neale (47)
At the ripe old age of 33, durable ruckman Stefan Martin is energised after playing in the finals for the first time in his 12 seasons in the League. However, Martin will face competition from Oscar McInerney with the pair alternating in "A" and "B" teams during match simulation in the pre-season.

CARLTON

Most consecutive games: Sam Petrevski-Seton (52), Ed Curnow (35), Sam Walsh (22)
The sixth overall pick of the 2016 NAB AFL National Draft, Carlton excitement machine Sam Petrevski-Seton has played 64 of a possible 66 games in the past three seasons. Steadily improving every year, averaging 14, 16.1 and 19.1 disposals respectively, the 21-year-old will be one of the Blues' building blocks for years to come.

COLLINGWOOD

Most consecutive games: Jack Crisp (122), Tom Phillips (55), Brodie Grundy (51)
Dashing defender Jack Crisp has the longest consecutive games streak in the competition, having not missed a game since 2014 when he was at Brisbane. It's been a remarkable rise for the 26-year-old, who was considered the steak knives in the Dayne Beams trade. Crisp – third in the Magpies' best and fairest last year and one of the best small/medium defenders in the League – signed a long-term deal with Collingwood until the end of 2023. The 40^th pick in the 2011 rookie draft, Crisp played 18 games in three seasons with the Lions before being traded. He's played every game since joining the Magpies.

One of the game's most explosive players, forward Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti hasn't missed a game for the Bombers since round 13, 2016. The 26-year-old has become a cult hero for the Bombers in recent seasons with his ability to dominate matches through his tackling pressure, intensity at the contest and a penchant for kicking freakish goals.

SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE Star forward could miss half of the season

FREMANTLE

Most consecutive games: David Mundy (51), Reece Conca (26), Darcy Tucker (23), Joel Hamling (23)
Veteran David Mundy continues to be a valuable contributor to the Dockers, entering his 17th season with the club. The 34-year-old, who has played 316 games, is second on the club's all-time games played list, behind only Matthew Pavlich (353). Mundy's match-winning goal after the siren against Richmond in round eight, 2017, won't soon be forgotten. His streak is set to end, however, after breaking his leg in December when riding a bike.

GEELONG

Most consecutive games: Mark Blicavs (52), Tom Stewart (29), Gryan Miers (25)
Late bloomer Mark Blicavs has become one of the premier key defenders in the competition. A two-time Cats best and fairest, the 28-year-old is on track to play his 150th game for the club in round one against Greater Western Sydney at Giants Stadium.

Most consecutive games: Jarrod Witts (44), Alex Sexton (44), David Swallow (25)
Suns co-captain Jarrod Witts has been immense since moving from Collingwood at the end of 2016. A competitive ruckman who never gives an inch, the 27-year-old's leadership is vital for the young Suns group. Forward Alex Sexton – who also hasn't missed a game in the past two years – has led the Suns goalkicking for the past two seasons.

The Giants have had their fair share of injuries recently, with no-one having played the past two seasons without missing a game, which makes their run to last year's Grand Final all the more impressive. Gun midfielder Tim Taranto is on the verge of making the leap to elite players in the competition such was his sensational form last year.

HAWTHORN

Most consecutive games: Blake Hardwick (65), Luke Breust (56), Paul Puopolo (38)
Defender Blake Hardwick has become a valuable part of the Hawks' back six in the past three seasons. The 23-year-old has played 65 of his 66 career games in a row, having remained in the side since round four, 2017 against Geelong. Averaged 17.4 disposals and 4.5 rebound 50s per game last year.

Dual best and fairest and an All-Australian by the age of 22 is a decent list of accolades for Demons midfield machine Clayton Oliver. Hasn't missed a game in the past three seasons, having averaged 30.1 disposals and 7.1 clearances per game last year. Will only continue to improve.

Kangaroos spearhead Ben Brown has led the club's goal-kicking for the past four seasons, and finished runner-up in the Coleman Medal last year with 64 majors. The 27-year-old is capable of kicking big bags, as he did in round 22 when he booted 10 goals against Port Adelaide. Jared Polec's streak includes 32 straight games at Port Adelaide before he joined the Roos at the end of 2018.

Veteran utility Justin Westhoff held the longest current streak in the AFL with 135 games before that came to an end last year. That leaves defender Darcy Byrne-Jones as the new leader at the Power. Runner-up in last year's best and fairest, the 24-year-old has played 86 of a possible 87 games since debuting in round three, 2016.

Injuries have hit the Tigers hard recently, but that lack of continuity hasn't affected their on-field performance, winning two of the past three flags. Midfielder Dion Prestia was a driving force in last year's return to the top with his consistent season.

ST KILDA

Most consecutive games: Tim Membrey (40), Jack Sinclair (36), Jack Billings (32)
Delisted from Sydney at the end of 2014, it would have been hard to predict the career resurgence of Saints forward Tim Membrey. The 25-year-old has embraced his lifeline at the Saints, leading the club's goal-kicking three times and kicking 44 goals last year, finishing eighth in the Coleman Medal.

SYDNEY

Most consecutive games: George Hewett (83), Jake Lloyd (51), Aliir Aliir (33)
Midfielder George Hewett took some big scalps last year in run-with roles, limiting the impact of some of the big names of the competition. The 24-year-old finished runner-up in the Swans' best and fairest and has barely missed a beat since making his debut in 2016.

WEST COAST

Most consecutive games: Tim Kelly (48), Jack Darling (34), Liam Ryan (31), Luke Shuey (31)
Star recruit Tim Kelly was extremely durable in his two seasons at Geelong, not missing a game after being picked as a mature-age recruit in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft. His addition adds to what already is a classy and deep Eagles midfield unit.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

Most consecutive games: Lachie Hunter (40), Aaron Naughton (33), Josh Dunkley (33)
Midfielder Lachie Hunter has been a consistent performer for the Bulldogs in his seven seasons at the club. Part of the 2016 premiership side and best and fairest in 2018, Hunter averaged 26.6 disposals per game last year. The 25-year-old has plenty of opportunity to add to his consecutive games streak having signed until the end of 2024.
