ELECTRIC Lion Charlie Cameron is going to be "the best small forward that ever played this game" according to his long-time mentor Eddie Betts.

After lighting it up together for Adelaide, the two fan favourites will reunite at Marvel Stadium for the All Stars in the State of Origin for Bushfire Relief match.

After being Cameron's teacher and the premier forward pocket in the league for a long time, Betts says the Lions gun has "gone past" him now.

"I said before if he keeps improving and playing the way he is, he's going to be the best small forward that ever played this game," Betts said ahead of Friday's clash.

"I think he's going to take control now. He's an All-Australian small forward, he'll come and say 'listen Ed, get out of my way it's my show now'

"He makes me so proud to see what he's achieved so far."

Cameron insists he'll be the one passing Betts the ball so he can kick some electrifying goals, but the Lions pocket rocket has been googling new celebrations in case he hits the scoreboard.

The explosive Lion also hinted at bringing in the help of a few teammates for a group celebration, but his teammate Harris Andrews guaranteed one thing.

"The old motorbike handles will come out for sure, he's trademarked that I think," Andrews said.

The return of Betts and Cameron nearly didn't happen, with the Blue originally left out of the squad before receiving a late call up on Wednesday.

Betts was originally listed in the Victorian squad after playing for Vic Metro in the junior ranks, but Betts was actually born in Port Lincoln.

The Bushfire Relief double-header kicks off from 5.40pm AEDT with the AFL Women's clash between Melbourne and Collingwood first, before the Victorians and All Stars take the field at 7.50pm AEDT.
