DASHING Bulldogs utility Ed Richards is still battling concussion related symptoms after copping a hit from North Melbourne's Marley Williams in the first Marsh Community Series last Friday.

The 20-year-old looks unlikely to return for the second Marsh Community Series game against Port Adelaide next week.

"He was sent to hospital for precautionary scans, but those scans came back and have cleared him of any serious structural pathology," Western Bulldogs medical services manager Chris Bell said. 

"He still does have some concussion symptoms that are persisting."

In better news, ruckman Tim English looks set to return from his own concussion issues for Saturday's members-only intraclub match.

Josh Bruce (back spasms), Easton Wood (hamstring) and Matt Suckling (managed) both missed last week's game but are expected to pull on the boots on Saturday. 

Tom Liberatore (knee) is not quite ready for match simulation, but the Bulldogs believe he is very close to returning after being steadily reintegrated with the main group at training over the past two weeks. 

Aaron Naughton (knee) is being managed carefully with the Bulldogs hopeful that the key forward will be ready for round one.
