The Club has apparently received a few emails lately from Lions fans who are looking for a more definite update on my ankle injury.

I’ve been listed as being 4-6 weeks away for probably the past 4-6 weeks with recovery obviously going slowly.

To be honest, I really wish there was something new that I could tell everyone.

But the truth is, I’m in limbo a bit and still unsure exactly how far away I am from returning.

Every time I feel as though I’m ready to start running again, there is a small setback which delays my recovery by another week.

Xavier Clarke keeps joking around and telling me that he’s going to take me with him to Darwin during the Split Round to visit some kind of bush doctor - and I’m seriously willing to try just about anything right now.

It’s a really frustrating situation, particularly when I thought I was only going to miss a couple of months when it first happened. That would have had me back out onto the field by Round 6 or so.

Now we’re heading into Round 11 and I still can’t lock in a return date. But I’m staying positive and am hoping to be back not long after the Split Round.

It should be an interesting second half of the season with plenty of teams still in the running for a Finals berth.

Even after five straight losses from Round 5-9, one inspiring win against Collingwood has us back on the edge of the top eight and only one game behind the fifth-placed Western Bulldogs.

This week the boys will try to make up some extra ground with a difficult trip to Victoria to take on North Melbourne. The Kangaroos are in a pretty similar position to us on the ladder which makes this one of those genuine eight-point games.

Let’s hope the guys build on that performance against the Pies last week by winning a tough game on the road.
