COLLINGWOOD has stressed that a staff member who tested positive to the COVID-19 virus has not been in contact with any members of the playing group or football department.
The Magpies confirmed on Saturday that the staff member, who recently returned from an overseas trip, has been in isolation since arriving back in the country and will not be returning to the club until they are medically cleared to do so.

"He is recovering at home and being monitored by the Department of Health and Human Services," the statement said.
"Due to quarantine requirements, the staff member has at no point been in any contact with players or staff members at Collingwood since returning and has therefore presented no transmission risk to the club."

Collingwood has already had one coronavirus scare, with captain Scott Pendlebury last week returning negative test results for the COVID-19 virus having presented to the club with cold-like symptoms.
Pendlebury returned to training on Wednesday and was a key figure in the club's convincing 52-point victory over the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.
AFL boss Gillon McLachlan confirmed earlier this week that the League would undergo a mandatory suspension period of 30 days, should any player test positive to the COVID-19 virus.
