WESTERN Bulldogs forward Jake Stringer's season is all but over after scans revealed he sustained a low-grade hamstring tear in the loss to Port Adelaide.
With the reigning premiers a longshot to make the finals, the 23-year-old will have plenty of time to get his second hamstring injury inside two months rehabilitated.
Bulldogs head physiotherapist Chris Bell said he expects Stringer to spend some time on the sidelines.
"Unfortunately Jake suffered some hamstring tightness in the first quarter of the game on the weekend … scans today have confirmed that he does have a low-grade hamstring injury and will require some time in rehab," Bell said.
"At this stage I’m predicting that Jake’s going to be unavailable for the next couple of weeks."
First-year ruckman Tim English received a heavy knock for the second time in a month in the VFL, with the 19-year-old suffering concussion in Footscray's loss to Essendon on Saturday.
The West Australian will be monitored throughout the week to see if he's available for selection.
Rookie Brad Lynch is a chance to return in the VFL after missing several weeks with a hamstring injury.
