As the Club counts down to the 10-year anniversary of the Brisbane Lions' 2001 premiership triumph, we take a look back at the premiership-winning team and their achievements post-Lions.

It seems that the talents of the 22 players from the Lions' 2001 Grand Final side are not restricted just to playing.

Out of the 22 players on ground, 11 have gone on to coach at senior AFL level at some capacity.

Michael Voss
Voss retired at the end of 2006 after playing 289 games for the Brisbane Bears and Brisbane Lions, with three premierships and a Brownlow Medal to his name.

Immediately following his retirement, he coached at the AIS-AFL Academy where he was responsible for developing elite young footballers.

He agreed to become an Assistant Coach of the West Coast Eagles but scrapped those plans quickly after being offered the head role at his former Club. Voss was soon appointed Senior Coach of the Brisbane Lions.

Voss' first season at the helm exceeded expectations and he led the Lions into their first finals campaign since 2004. Voss remains the Senior Coach of the Brisbane Lions and is contracted until the end of 2011.

Chris Johnson
Following his retirement at the end of the 2007 season, Johnson remained at the Lions as a Development Coach, assisting in the development and leadership of the Club's young players.

In 2009 he moved back to Melbourne where he was appointed Coach of the EDFL Club Avondale Heights until the end of 2011.

Justin Leppitsch
Leppitsch was an Assistant Coach under Leigh Matthews at the Brisbane Lions from 2007-2009.

He then accepted an Assistant Coach position at Richmond in October 2009.

Marcus Ashcroft
Ashcroft currently holds the record for the most games played at the Brisbane Bears/Brisbane Lions, with 318 in total.

Upon his retirement in 2003, he held a variety of football administration positions. He is currently the General Manager of Football Operations at the Gold Coast Suns.
Chris Scott
Scott retired at the end of the 2007 season and promptly joined the Fremantle Dockers as an Assistant Coach.

After applying for the Port Adelaide Senior Coach position in 2010 and narrowly missing out to Matthew Primus, Scott was appointed by Geelong as the club's new Senior Coach following the surprise resignation of Mark Thompson. Scott will make his debut as Senior Coach for Geelong in Round 1 of 2011.

Brad Scott
Scott retired in 2006 and was appointed Development Coach at Collingwood in 2007, where he remained for three years. While at Collingwood, he also held the position of Opposition Analyst and later was their midfield coach.

He joined North Melbourne at the end of 2009 on a three-year deal as their Senior Coach.

Nigel Lappin
Lappin’s struggle with an Achilles tendon injury saw him retire at the end of 2008.

Just weeks after his retirement, he was hired as an Assistant Coach at Geelong and was part of the coaching team that led the Cats to their 2009 Premiership.

Clark Keating
Keating retired at the end of 2006 and was signed by the Brisbane Lions as an Assistant Coach for two years. Keating predominantly worked as the ruck coach under the leadership of Leigh Matthews and was a solid contributor to the development of the young Lions ruckmen.

He left the Lions at the end of 2008.

Shaun Hart
Hart retired from professional football after sustained injuries from the 2004 Preliminary Final.

In 2009, Hart was announced as an Assistant Coach at the Gold Coast Suns under Senior Coach Guy McKenna.

Beau McDonald
McDonald retired at the beginning of the 2008 season following a string of injuries since the early 2000s.

He was appointed the Brisbane Lions Assistant Coach in October 2008 on a part-time basis, and helped develop the likes of young ruckmen Matthew Leuenberger and Mitch Clark. In 2009 he joined the Club on a full-time basis and is currently one of the Lions' five Assistant Coach.

Craig McRae
McRae was appointed Player Development Coach at Richmond following his retirement from the Lions, and halfway through the 2006 season became the Head Coach for Richmond’s VFL affiliate club, the Coburg Tigers.

He moved back to the Brisbane Lions in 2009 as a Development Coach, and has since joined Collingwood as their new Development Manager.
