ADELAIDE coach Don Pyke's position is "absolutely safe, at the moment" as the Crows consider more changes at the selection table to ensure they don't slip out of the finals, board member Mark Ricciuto says.
After sitting in a strong position at 8-5 at the mid-season bye, the Crows have lost four of their past five games, but are still eighth on the ladder, ahead of the Western Bulldogs on percentage.
Pyke invited players and coaching staff around to his house for pizza and beers on Sunday in response to Saturday's 27-point loss to Carlton at the MCG.

Speaking on his morning radio program on Triple M Adelaide on Monday morning, Ricciuto said Pyke – who is in his fourth season in charge of the Crows and is contracted until the end of 2021 – wasn't in any immediate danger of getting sacked.
"Don Pyke is absolutely safe, at the moment," Ricciuto said.
"Of course, he's under pressure at the moment because the side isn't going well, but at the mid-season bye, all the players were very happy with what was going on.
"If it doesn't change quickly, then they have to change more personnel.
"We've got an aging list and that's why there's been some older players dropped, but right now, when you're in the (top) eight, surely you're picking a side to win and try and keep winning and try and make finals."
Champion small forward Eddie Betts (four goals), midfielders Bryce Gibbs (40 disposals) and Richard Douglas (34 disposals, three goals) and ruckman Sam Jacobs pushed their cases for recalls with strong SANFL performances.
The Crows take on St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
Defender Alex Keath is unlikely to return after he was managed and missed the loss to Carlton, despite travelling with the team as the emergency.

"The conversation was we'll be getting him ready for West Coast (in round 21)," assistant coach Scott Camporeale said.
"He played with his ankle injury for three weeks.
"After talking to the match committee and the medical staff as we do every week, there was the process there, is there an opportunity to give him some rest to get better over a period of time.
"There was also the conversation, he's still available to play if we needed him."

Camporeale said the discussions at Pyke's house were largely unrelated to football.
"After the month that we've had … the pressure's real," he said.
"That's the reality of this sport and this town.
"We want to make sure they get a release and come in today ready to perform against St Kilda.
"You win together, you lose together and you find a way together.
"We'll come through this."
