RODNEY Eade is hoping the return of Brian Harris will prevent St Kilda from outscoring the Dogs as much as the Crows did last weekend, when the two sides meet at Telstra Dome on Saturday night.
Harris has missed the opening two rounds due to a suspension in last year's preliminary final against Collingwood, and his availability this week gives Eade another tall defender to throw at Fraser Gehrig and possibly Nick Riewoldt.
"St Kilda has got some good, quality talls, and we were hurt last week in that area, which obviously at some stage is going to catch us out," Eade said on Wednesday.
"Brian coming straight back in will hopefully stiffen our defence."
After being unable to back up their round one win over Geelong with another against Adelaide last weekend, Eade said he had detected a resolve among his players to account for Sunday's result.
"We had a good meeting yesterday, and the guys spoke very openly about individuals and their teammates and it was a very positive meeting," he said.
"I certainly get a very strong feeling they want to atone for last week."
While the Saints have been injury-hit down back with Max Hudghton joining Matt Maguire on the sidelines, Eade is still predicting a tough avenue to goal this Saturday night.
"They get numbers back. It's going to be difficult to score for both teams," he said.
"I think it will be a pretty tough and tight game."
The Dogs have already welcomed back two players who have recovered from knee reconstructions this year, with Luke Darcy and Robert Murphy slotting back into the senior side for the opening two matches.
Midfielder Mitch Hahn, who also underwent a reconstruction last year after round 12, is yet to return to the side but Eade believes he is on the right track.
"He'll be back for Werribee seconds this week; it's his first game," he said.
"He'll play a half up to three quarters there. Hopefully it's only a couple of weeks playing for Werribee twos, and then it will be Werribee ones, and how long it takes for him to get back in the senior side, only time will tell.
"He'll be judged on form, and how his confidence feels about everything."
