GARY Ablett will extend his lead at the top of the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade, if he continues his hot streak against North Melbourne this weekend.

In his past four games against the Kangaroos, Ablett has averaged 36.5 disposals, 17.3 contested possessions, 2.3 goals and 5.8 tackles.

Against all other opponents in that time, he has averaged 31.6 disposals, 14.6 contested possessions, 1.3 goals and 5.1 tackles.

Ablett goes into round seven with an 82-point lead over the No. 2 player in the competition, Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury.

Another player looking to continue a great run of form against his opponent this weekend is Adelaide's Eddie Betts.

Between 2010 and 2013 when he was with Carlton, Betts dominated games against Melbourne, averaging 15.9 player ratings points, compared to 11.4 against other clubs.

Since 2010, Betts has been the leading score-assist player in the League. His tally of 168 is 20 more than any other player.

Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott should head into Friday night's blockbuster clash with Carlton full of confidence.

Elliott had more than 20 disposals and three score assists in both matches against the Blues last year. When the sides met in round two, he kicked a equal career-high five goals.

A player who will be aiming to overcome a poor record against his opponent this weekend is St Kilda's Leigh Montagna.

The veteran midfielder cracked the top 20 in the player ratings for the first time after last week’s best-on-ground performance against the Brisbane Lions, but Hawthorn has been his bogey team over the past four seasons.

Montagna has averaged just 8.4 player ratings points, 23.3 disposals and 6.7 contested possessions in three matches against the Hawks.

Against all other teams, Montagna has averaged 13.9 player ratings points, 26.7 disposals and 9.4 contested possessions.
