FORMER best and fairest winner Bernie Vince has resisted overtures from at least two Victorian-based clubs to re-sign with Adelaide.

Vince had been linked to Collingwood and also Essendon, where his former captain and mentor Simon Goodwin is an assistant coach.

In an interview with Footy Feast on afl.com.au last month, the 25-year-old confirmed he'd received "outside interest" via his manager, but said his preference was to stay at Adelaide if an agreement could be reached.

He had an interrupted pre-season and struggled for touch early in the year, resulting in his omission from the team in round five.

He missed several weeks with injury before being recalled to the team in round 11, and has rediscovered good form in the past month.

Promising defender Andy Otten has also agreed to terms with the Crows.

Otten, 22, finished runner-up to Brisbane Lions onballer Daniel Rich in the NAB Rising Star award after a breakout season in 2009, but missed all of last year with a knee injury.

Football operations manager Phil Harper said the club expected to announce more re-signings in the near future.

"Both Bernie and Andy are important players for our team and enjoy being involved with our football club," Harper said in a statement.

"Importantly, they have a strong belief in the future of this playing group."

Vince, 25, has played 85 AFL games for the Crows since 2006 after being drafted from SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens.

This season Otten has played 13 AFL games for a career total of 39.

Harper says that a number of other players are also close to re-signing with the Crows.

"We've been in discussions with a number of players and their managers in recent weeks and we expect to have some more contract extensions in the next few weeks," he said.

Key-position players Daniel Talia and Shaun McKernan are understood to be among the players close to re-signing with the club.

Forward Taylor Walker is also expected to remain at West Lakes, despite putting off contract negotiations until the end of the season.

The departure of defender Phil Davis, who announced his plans to join Greater Western Sydney a fortnight ago, has created additional room in the club's salary cap.
