After 14 years, 289 games, three premierships and countless individual honours, the time has finally come to farewell our lion-hearted leader.

Retired champion Michael Voss will officially farewell his legion of loyal Lions fans at 7:15pm prior to the round two Easter Thursday night blockbuster between the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda at the Gabba.

Co-incidentally, Voss played his final AFL match against St Kilda on Saturday 2 September last year at the Gabba before surprising the football world by announcing his retirement a month later. Members and supporters have since craved the opportunity to farewell the Club legend at the ground in which he once ruled.

On Thursday night, our famous No.3 will stride the arena with his children one last time as a mark of respect to the Lions faithful. All Lions members and supporters are urged to attend the match and give Voss a hero’s send-off.

Voss has treated us all to one of the truly great football careers and he will be forever remembered in AFL history as one of the game’s finest players.

Tickets for Thursday night’s match are still available through Ticketek so call 13 28 49 or log onto www.ticketek.com.au

The Brisbane Lions Victorian Office is also planning a time this year to give Melbourne-based fans the opportunity to farewell Vossy in Victoria.
