afl.com.au asked six young guns from each team who they believe has been the best player they have seen in this year's NAB AFL under 18 championships.

Ranga Ediriwickrama (New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory)
"So far, from one game's experience, I'd say Jack Watts. He kicked four or five against us and was pretty handy, so he's the one."

Hamish Hartlett (South Australia)
"Probably Jack Watts or Jack Ziebell, from what I've seen and when I played against them, I thought they were pretty impressive, especially Ziebell. But it's pretty tough, along with [Nicholas] Naitanui. I'd say one of those three, but if I'd have to [put them in order], I'd say Ziebell, Watts and Naitanui."

Mitch Robinson (Tasmania)
"Jesse Crichton has been a standout for our team, he's been pretty noticeable, but it's a hard one. Tyson Slattery from South Australia has been good in the backline and Ranga [Ediriwickrama] and Jeremy Kirkwood have been standouts for NSW/ACT. But if I had to choose, I'd say Ranga and Hamish Hartlett."

Jack Ziebell (Vic Country)
"The best player that's played against us has been Hamish Hartlett or Ranga [Ediriwickrama]. Hamish played well on the weekend against us and Ranga got 25 touches against us, so from what I've seen, those two would be close to [the best]."

Jack Watts (Vic Metro)
"Michael Hurley. I would say Michael Hurley has been – along with Xavier Gotch – from our side, would be the two that have impressed me the most."

Nicholas Naitanui (Western Australia)
"I think Stephen Hill from my team, WA, has done really well. He's stood out a lot. His skills have been so good. We knew he was good, but we didn't expect him to be that good and dominant as much as he has been. He's had a few tagging roles and also won a lot of the footy as well."
