FRIDAY'S clash between Carlton and Brendan Fevola's Brisbane Lions has attracted arguably more interest than any NAB Challenge match that has come before it, but the Blues' camp is keeping the lid tightly fastened.

The first appearance of the former Carlton favourite in his new colours against his old side is expected to see several thousand curious spectators file into Visy Park for the practice match, but Andrew Carrazzo said Fevola's presence hasn't been a focus during the week.

"We've talked about it a little bit - it should be interesting," Carrazzo said on Thursday. "Obviously we haven't played against him before, but we'd just like to see it like any other game.

"Hopefully everyone just gets through unscathed and we can all get a kick.

"A few of the boys are still pretty close with Fev and he is that sort of guy who you can have a bit of a joke with, but it should be business as usual when we get out there."

Michael Jamison or Bret Thornton appear the most likely to get the job on the imposing spearhead who Carrazzo expects will not be shy about making his presence felt.

"He probably [will throw his weight around a bit], he was pretty competitive at training, but we'll just have to wait and see," he said.

An entire pre-season campaign has almost passed since Fevola's controversial departure from the club, but Carrazzo admits he is still adjusting to the situation.

"The first time I saw him on the news in a Brisbane Lions jumper it did look a bit weird," he said.

"But that's the way things are know - we can't change anything. Hopefully he gets through and plays well."

Club officials are unsure how large a crowd the match will attract.

Gates open at 3pm for the 4pm start with entry through gates four and five and free admission for Carlton members.

Brendan Fevola is a $393,300 forward in this year's Toyota AFL Dream Team.
