PORT Adelaide midfielder Steven Salopek has laughed off suggestions he’s set to walk out on the club, following speculation he’d bought a house on the Gold Coast.

Salopek was surprised to hear of his alleged property purchase on a Melbourne-based TV show earlier this month and said there was absolutely no truth to the rumour.

“I got a phone call from my sister on the Friday morning after [the show went to air] and she asked ‘have you bought a house up on the Gold Coast?’ and I said, ‘not that I know of’,” Salopek said.

“It would be nice to have a house up there, but it’s not true at all and I don’t know where the rumour came from.

"There’s always going to be speculation with players coming out of contract and Gold Coast coming in, so I think it’s just another one of those rumours.”

Another Port Adelaide player that has been linked to Gold Coast, as well as Victorian-based clubs Geelong and Essendon is promising onballer Travis Boak.

Boak is yet to commit to the Power beyond this season and coach Mark Williams confirmed football manager Peter Rohde was in Melbourne to hold talks with the 21-year-old’s manager.

“I think this week is when it [Boak’s contract] is scheduled to be talked about. It’s not like it hasn’t been talked about, but it was booked in for this week not last week that’s all,” Williams said.
