WESTERN Bulldogs assistant coach Leon Cameron has confirmed he will remain at Whitten Oval next year amid reports he is being head-hunted by Fremantle.

Cameron, who played 172 games for the Bulldogs before being traded to Richmond in 1999, has recently spoken to Fremantle's football operations manager Chris Bond about opportunities at the Perth club.

The discussions between the two, who worked alongside each other at Whitten Oval from 2004 until last season, were confirmed by Fremantle coach Mark Harvey earlier this month.

But Cameron has denied any possible move west this year, saying he has a season to run on his Bulldogs' contract.

"Yes, I'll be there. I've got another year," he told SEN on Saturday, the day after the Dogs were beaten by Geelong in the preliminary final.

"I think [Bond] is trying to lure a few Victorians over there.

"I've got another year and I'll definitely be there [at Whitten Oval]."

The 256-game player just finished his fifth season as an assistant coach of the Dogs, and was in charge of the midfield in 2008.
