The Brisbane Lions AFC are pleased to announce three new key appointments to the Club.

The Lions have appointed Cathy Kay to the new role of Community Engagement Officer which will focus primarily on the Club's community-based programs and initiatives.

Cathy comes to the Club with extensive experience in sport and working with charities and community groups. She will be responsible for driving the Lions' involvement in the community, particularly in the Logan region.

The Club have been active in the community through a range of activities including the coordination of free Community BBQ events at team training sessions, providing food and ticket hamper donations to local community centres prior to Christmas and, most recently, assisting in a variety of ways with Queensland's Flood Relief.

The Lions have also appointed a new Corporate Sales Manager Georgina Deetlefs and Business Analyst Rick Bischoff who both commenced with the Club on Monday.

Georgina will oversee the Lions’ Corporate Sales team in the lead-up to and throughout the 2011 AFL Premiership Season, reporting directly to the General Manager Corporate Services.

She joins the Club with a great deal of sales experience, particularly within the media and advertising industry.

Rick commences in the newly created role of Business Analyst which has been designed to focus on strategic projects in an effort to positively impact all Club departments and deliver strong and favourable outcomes.

He will also be heavily involved in the operation of the Lions’ new social club at Springwood.

The introduction of these staff will provide further support to the Club’s administration which has been significantly bolstered following a busy off-season review process.
