Shane O’Bree spoke to CTV after being one of Collingwood's best players in Sunday’s 33-point loss to the Bulldogs at Telstra Dome

The 28-year-old amassed 24 possessions in a strong midfield showing, and while disappointed that the side was not able to consolidate after an excellent first half, he believes there are certainly positives to take from the game.

“I suppose our pressure has been fantastic all year, but our pressure (in the first half) was really good and we were making the most of our opportunities when we were having shots at goal,” O’Bree said in the rooms.

The Magpies held a 17-point advantage at the main break after booting 11 goals, but managed only three majors thereafter as inaccuracy in front of goal cost the side.

“Half way through the third quarter, we’d all played pretty well, we thought we had them on toast, and probably took the foot of the pedal and missed a few goals when we probably could’ve run right over the top of them,” O’Bree added.

“We sort of let them back in the game. They found a bit, they’re a confident side, a pretty skilful side, and as they showed, they just ran over the top of us in the end.”

Despite dropping the game to the Bulldogs, O’Bree acknowledged Collingwood’s fine start to season 2007, which has yielded five gutsy wins thus far, allows the club to move on quickly and focus on getting back to its winning ways against Brisbane next Saturday.

“We can just wipe that aside now, the Bulldogs are a pretty good team, we’ve got Brisbane next week.

“It’s just a matter of us recovering and doing all the right things. We’ve got that many blokes getting an opportunity, the younger fellas through Williamstown, they’re playing well too.

“It’s just a matter of making the most of the opportunities and putting the score on the board.”
