Contact between the Adelaide Crows' Richard Tambling and Fremantle's Aaron Sandilands from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Sandilands was in the process of marking the ball when Tambling attempted to spoil. It was the view of the panel that it was a legitimate attempt to spoil and the high contact was accidental. No further action was taken.
Contact between West Coast's Matt Rosa and the Sydney Swans' Rhyce Shaw from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Shaw handballed the ball as he was being tackled by West Coast player Brad Ebert. Rosa stands his ground as Shaw is pushed into him by the force of the tackle. It was the view of the panel that Rosa's actions were not a bumping motion and contact was caused by circumstances outside Rosa's control. No further action was taken.
Contact between the Brisbane Lions' Ash McGrath and Melbourne's Liam Jurrah from the third quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. Jurrah had taken possession of the ball near the boundary line and slipped over. McGrath slides in to tackle and the pair go over the boundary line. It was the view of the panel that McGrath was making an attempt to tackle, when high contact was made for a free kick. No further action was taken.
Potential contact between Port Adelaide’s Hamish Hartlett and umpire Sam Hay from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. The panel said that behind the goals vision determined that the umpire falling over was not caused by any player contact. No further action was taken.
Contact between Essendon's Alwyn Davey and St Kilda's Leigh Montagna from the fourth quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. Montagna had taken possession of the ball and handballed. Just as he disposed of the ball, Davey jumped to bump the St Kilda player. Contact was made to Montagna's left arm, which ricocheted upwards and hit him on the right side of the face, causing injury. Davey subsequently made minor contact to the left side of Montagna’s face. It was the view of the panel that no forceful high contact was made by Davey to Montagna. No further action was taken.
