WEST Coast midfielder Sam Mitchell had no case to answer for allegedly spitting near Port Adelaide's Sam Gray, with the Match Review Panel clearing his actions on Monday afternoon.
The MRP returned a 'clean sheet' for the first time this season, with no players fined or suspended out of the opening week of finals.
Mitchell, who was angry at allegations he spat at Gray, would have faced a $1500 fine if the MRP had charged him with spitting.
The Mitchell incident from Saturday night was one of two matters that received attention over the weekend.
Geelong forward Steven Motlop was cleared of any wrongdoing for making contact with Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin in the groin as he got to his feet in Friday night's qualifying final.
There are five players still in action this season who have committed two low-level classifiable offences, risking a one-match suspension if they commit another.
Sydney superstar Lance Franklin and midfielder Zak Jones, gun Richmond duo Trent Cotchin and Dustin Martin, and Adelaide forward Charlie Cameron are all on their last chance with the MRP.
