BERNIE Vince's confidence in Melbourne's development has not wavered despite its shock 13-point loss to Essendon on Saturday, stressing there is no point in yelling and screaming to get things back on track.
The Demons blew a golden opportunity to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since round 14, 2011 against the depleted Bombers.
Vince said it was important his side stuck to the course charted for it so that it can move on quickly ahead of Sunday's game against the undefeated North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
Nine things we learned from round two
"We had a bad day on the weekend," Vince said when fronting the media on Monday.
"We're really confident where we're at as a footy club and we'll do everything we can to turn it around this week.
"As a whole footy club, we're in it together so there's no point in yelling and screaming at each other."
Paul Roos forecast a few changes at the selection table and Vince could not disagree with his coach.
"With a performance like that, you'd probably expect a couple (of changes), so there'll be some nervous guys," Vince said.
Alex Neal-Bullen looks a likely inclusion after picking up 36 disposals for Casey Scorpions in the VFL club's final practice match for the year.
Veteran Lynden Dunn may also come into the team to contend with North's tall forward line, while the Demons also saw some encouraging signs from injury-riddled pair Jack Trengove (22 disposals and two goals) and Christian Petracca (20).
"There's some real pressure coming from underneath, which is healthy," Vince said.
There will be a focus on the "little things" in the lead up to Sunday's game against the Roos, according to Vince, although nothing much will change from a preparation point of view.
Melbourne will have a light run at Blundstone Arena on Saturday before the game against North Melbourne on Sunday.
