DAVID Zaharakis' valiant but ultimately unsuccessful effort to haul Essendon over the line in Sunday's thriller against Melbourne earned him the weekend's best score in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade.

Zaharakis' 31 disposals, five marks and four goals equated to 26.5 player ratings points.

His score was 0.2 points greater than that recorded by Sydney Swans star Lance Franklin, whose five-goal effort against Port Adelaide earned him 26.3.

The other leading scorers in round 13 were West Coast forward Josh Kennedy (26.2), Power midfielder Brad Ebert (26.1), Brisbane Lions dasher Pearce Hanley (26), Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury (26), North Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey (24.7) and Geelong onballer Mathew Stokes (24.2).

Adelaide's Brodie Smith is another player making a name for himself with some impressive player ratings scores.

The 22-year-old was credited with 22.1 points after tallying 29 disposals, nine marks and a goal in the Crows' impressive win over North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval.

The backman's points tally was the highest by an Adelaide player in the match. It was the third time this season he has been the Crows' leading scorer in a game.

Smith is Adelaide’s third-highest scoring player for the season and is the third-highest scoring small/medium defender in the competition.

He also leads the League for metres gained. His tally of 7274 metres gained is 449 more than second-placed Sydney Swan Nick Malceski.

Smith now sits 50th on the player ratings table.

Gold Coast gun Dion Prestia is among the other big movers on the table.

Prestia moved into the top 50 after scoring 23 points in the Suns' narrow loss to West Coast at Patersons Stadium.

The 21-year-old ranks third in the competition for disposals, third for metres gained, 10th for contested possessions and eighth for inside 50s.

Prestia now sits 44th on the ratings table.

Collingwood's Jamie Elliott is also on the charge. Elliott has moved into the top 100 for the first time in his career.

Elliott sits 10th in the Coleman Medal race and is the Magpies' leading goalkicker.

His 28 goals from 40 shots is the equal-third best accuracy of any player with 20 or more shots for the year.
