HAWTHORN'S Jarryd Roughead will get a great chance to improve his position in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade, when he comes up against one of his favourite opponents on Friday night at the MCG.

Roughead has averaged 14 disposals and 4.7 goals in his last six matches against Carlton.

His record against the Blues includes one bag of eight goals and two bags of five.

He gathered 13 disposals and kicked four majors when the Hawks last played Carlton in round 12 last year.

Roughead was a big mover on the player ratings table after his dominant performance against West Coast in Launceston last weekend.

His eight goals, five contested marks and two score-assists equated to a player ratings score of 34 points, which was the highest recorded in round 12.

Roughead's impressive effort saw him jump from 20th on the overall ratings table to 11th.

He also grabbed the title of best key forward in the competition from his former teammate Lance Franklin.

Roughead is the leading key forward for points earned in 2014, while Franklin is in ninth place.

Two others on the way up the player ratings table are Sydney Swans duo Dan Hannebery and Ben McGlynn.

Hannebery cracked the top-50 for the first time after racking up 30 disposals and seven marks in the Swans' win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium last weekend.

He ranks 15th in the competition for total points gained this season.

McGlynn pushed his way into the top-100 for the first time after amassing 22 disposals and nine tackles in the win over the Suns.

He ranks first in the competition for pressure applied in the forward half this season.
